This Is What An “Anti-Design” Store Looks Like

Danish audio brand AIAIAI has created a minimalist environment in order to spotlight the products.

While some stores go all-out in terms of design for their flagship store, Danish audio design brand AIAIAI decided to go in a different direction. The minimalist interior of the Copenhagen store has even been called “anti-design” for its no frills aesthetic. Designed by Borg Brückner, the store’s monochromatic palette looks cleans and keeps the focus on the products. The pegboard walls are utilitarian in nature, allowing for easy changes of displays and layout without adding any distracting touches. The furniture and the walls are modular so that it can be easily moved or reconfigured as needed, so if new products demand different display needs, no major remodeling is needed.

The store’s plain look is meant to highlight AIAIAI’s new TMA-2 headphones, which allows for a high degree of customization to fit the needs of the owner.
