German household appliances manufacturer Vorwerk has opened three new stores in Austria, marking its first move into bricks and mortar retailing. Before the stores opened Vorwerk’s products were available only by direct sales, through company representatives.
Store design, shopfitting and digital signage have all been provided by Umdasch as part of a ‘one stop shop’ project. The group was briefed to create a store format that could highlight both of Vorwerk’s main product ranges, which consist of Thermomix kitchen appliances and Kobold Vacuum cleaners.
White surfaces and wooden elements have been used consistently in all of the stores, with green detailing ensuring a fresh feel and reflecting Vorwerk’s corporate identity.Fully integrated screens and tablets, from Umdasch’s viBIZ Digital Solutions division, are used to provide additional product information. Additional store highlights include cooking demonstrations, a vacuum cleaner display wall and service that includes personal advice for shoppers.
Vorwerk director of retail Matthias Leier says the brand was seeking a unique and innovative store design for its international expansion plan. “We look forward to continuing this highly successful cooperation during the next few years,” he says. The stores are in Linz, Vösendorf, and Vienna. A Frankfurt branch of Vorwerk is scheduled to open in October 2016.
